ZUSE, by Austrian company Inseq Design, is a compact toasting device that can be attached to the wall. It is automatically activated through an optical sensor when any slice of bread is put in. As a special gimmick it is possible to burn black & white pictures with a resolution of 12 to 12 pixels into your toast using a line by line toasting – a technology similar to early matrix printers. Several pictures are already in the toaster’s memory and will be printed/burned in randomised order. (via John Nack)
