Sunny 2006

As you may know one of the other things I’m involved in is the SUN Awards. This is an annual judged showcase for professional photographers who are based in northern half of the UK, working in the areas of advertising, design, fashion or editorial.

2006 has been a bumper year, with far more photographers entering than ever before. And the judges were pretty impressed too, pronouncing the whole crop of submissions as of really great quality.

Interestingly most of last year’s winners were digital capture, whereas this year film featured in greater numbers.

The exhibition continues at the Lowry Hotel Manchester until 4 November and then moves on to the Leeds Innovation Centre, where it can be seen from 8 November.
