For those based in the north of England the AOP is presenting a short season of seminars in Manchester.
Self promotion is often a challenging task and for freelance photographers it can be crucial to the success of their business. This season of seminars, workshops and discussions will explore successful self promotion methods in the current competitive and dynamic climate.
The Big Debate:
The season kicks off on Wednesday 21 March, 18:30-21:00 at Photolink Studios.
Explore the diversity of effective methods of promotion, and establish which best suits your style of work and best targets your commercial or artistic aspirations. The lively discussion will explore the values and merits of these alternative routes with a range of high level industry professionals from London and Manchester.
This is followed by two more seminars on 28th “Profit from Projects” and “Making the Call” 31st March.
These events are open to both AOP and non-members.

While these seminars are both accessible by plane, and interesting to me, the short notice provided mean they are expensive to get to. Aer Arann will fly in cheap on a months notice and I would gladly attend with this. Please, more advance notice on these key issues.

response: Prodig published the information the same day it was received. I understand from AOP that the final event details were only confirmed about a week before that, so unfortunately it would still have been less than a month’s notice.
I’m sure if Manchester events become popular again that more advanced planning will become the norm.
