Nikon has unveiled its competition to Canon’s G9, the Nikon P6000. Available from 12th September Nikon manage to translate a US $499.95 into £429 for the UK (umm my exchange rate calculator makes that £254!)
It’s packed full of features, such as an equivalent 28-112mm lens, 13.5 megapixels, GPS, and ethernet connection. BUT its RAW format is proprietory and requires Windows Image Component to be able to use it. So Vista users are OK but the rest of us are stuffed until they release a codec so we can convert imported files to DNG.
