Thanks to Bob for this breaking news…
For all of those interested in software advances , Funino ( Japan ) have developed a new sensing software for digital cameras along the lines of face recognition. It’s a “golden ratio ” algorithm that detects composition based on the Fibonacci sequence (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fibonacci_number). It disables the shutter release until you achieve perfect composition either in the viewfinder or on live video.
Also in the pipeline is a software solution for lens selection . The idea is that you only have to buy one wide angle lens for each camera system and all other focal lengths are interpolated . Apparently the beta software is so good that you only need the bottom of a milk bottle set in to a toilet roll holder with sticky backed plastic to get images good enough for 48 sheet posters.
And finally they are looking at that bit of software we all need , one that uses aura recognition to detect if the client is happy . The bad news is that their promised software to manipulate client attitude or extend copy deadlines will still not be available until this time next year.
