Among the one star reviews for CS5 at Amazon.com, I saw a few notes such as this from a Jeff Tranberry at Adobe, offering help to those feeling frustrated and cheated by Adobe..

Hi DMunnee,
Sorry. I'm really distressed that you encountered such an issue. That should definitely not happen. I'd really like to review your case if you have a case #. Can you please send me your case# and Adobe ID email address so I can have a senior person review? jtranber at adobe dot com
Thanks,
- Jeff

I have spent the whole morning on my email trying to get petitions signed to stop Adult Education Colleges from being closed and sidelined so the Tories can destroy anything that keeps a civilized society approachable for the poorer members of society....... Now
this.......... Would they like us all to give up and go on the dole?!!!!!!!!!! Yet another part of our basic needs to crumble.......... It makes me want to weep..........

I think this is a very good initiative and I'm amazed that
1 I've just spotted it
and
2 there was only one respondent to it!.
For a UK audience I may be able to do something on colour management, I noticed that screen calibration was not in the list above but was requested by the first respondent Roger Woodridge. of course screen calibration would be a logical part of colourmanagement, perhaps alongside just why is colour management needed and what exactly does it/ can it do.
if anyone's interested they might like to contact me to register an interest?

Is there an accessible archive of material on if and how The Digital Economy Bill is being viewed by the United States government? My home is Hawai`i and citizens on these islands are frequently among the last in the world to learn of significant issues. While I'll be using Google to catch up, I would very much appreciate any particularly valuable information.

Crazy bill...It's like making the highway agency responsible for thieves using the roads. There are better ways to tackle piracy, none of which seem to have been considered.

For example, force search engines NOT to post links to torrent sites (they are accessories as things stand -- moreso than ISPs who provide a service but search engines exist to make profits only and do so by signposting goods: Boys, you want easy pickings? Go here!). MOST users haven't a clue where to download illegal software, music, videos, etc. They rely on search engines.

Make hosts and ISPs search for illegal goods on their servers (robots can do it) and enforce their policies of not including material that doesn't belong to a user by banning the user (legal ground work already is in place: you signed NOT to include copyrighted material in your webspace).

Force domain name providers to take down domains that host torrent sites (everyone knows they exist for only one purpose: distribute property that doesn't belong to them). Again, they can employ robots to find sites. This way, it doesn't matter pirates host sites abroad in order to avoid the law. You just cut off the domain (the gateway). No domain, no publicly accessible website.

Honestly, with all the consultations, etc, research, wasted public money, they still cannot see what's under their nose.

Thanks for that Ed.

I'm finding stabilisation to be the biggest issue with either the 7d or 5DII as video devices. Since people have found out I'm able to do video also, I seem to be getting interest in that.

I know from little shorts I've made that I need to steady up!
While the Red Rock kit looks cool it removes the size advantage from a VDSLR.

Hi Ed, I am always interested to find out more about new ways of shooting tethered with Lightroom. However, I have tried this plug-in out with three different Canon EOS cameras (two of which are shown as supported) and none of them appear to work. If anyone else can get it to work I would be interested to hear any feedback on how well it performs compared to say the Canon EOS Utility.
